Muslim Girls
April 10, 2009
New Hampshire, at first glance, seems an unlikely candidate for the next in our on-going series titled “New American Voices.” After all, 95 percent of the population is White. But like most places throughout the country, pockets of immigrant communities can be found. And like most immigrant communities, we found tension among the younger generation, struggling to blend into modern American society, while maintaining traditional familial culture and traditions at home.
John Rudolph brings us the story of three muslim teenaged girls from Manchester Central High School. This originally was part of an hour-long documentary for New Hampshire Public Radio.
